Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country.
The line was established from apparently normal tissue from the left breast of a patient with infiltrating ductal carcinoma of the breast (see ATCC CRL-7326). The patient also suffered from neurofibromatosis.
