The 2.75 kb FspI/SacI portion of the insert constitutes 'probe III' and corresponds to amino acids 544-1461 of von Willebrand factor.
Detects the gene on chromosome 12 and a pseudogene on chromosome 22.
Insert is the 5' 4 kb SacI(vector)/SacI fragment of lambda HvWF3.
