Detects fragments of different chromosomal origin; polymorphic bands on chromosome 12, constant bands on chromosome 5, 12, 13, and 17.
Codominant segregation demonstrated in 4 informative families with 20 individuals.
Digest with BglII gives the following constant bands: 30, 18, 13, 9.6, 8.2, 3.5, 3, 2.6, 2.
Only insert DNA should be used for nick translation. Genomic fragments should be separated on 0.9% gels. Washing conditions: 0.1X SSC at 63-65C.
